Life as a Dad (so far)

Being a dad for the last three weeks has been amazing. Moments where my son wants to just hold and be held to sleep is such an incredibly heartwarming experience. I love it. He makes hilarious faces, has great farts, and has such an inquisitive look all the time. It's wild to look at this little baby and realize, this is a full blown person. As someone who can work from home, I have really cherished the time I get to spend with him and my wife.

Plus, he helps my with my training. He usually wakes up around 4-5am for a feeding so I take that shift and feed him a bottle and take some time to get him back to sleep. This usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes and leaves me pretty awake. Prime time to get a run in.

It feels great to get out when its the break of dawn, the world is just waking up, and the weather is cool. I look forward to it now as part of my routine. I started all of this because I wanted to be a better role model for him and to prove to myself that I am capable of being that person. Now, here he is helping me accomplish that for him. It's just a funny and cool thing to me. I look forward to watching him grow and seeing how else he will play into this part of my life.

Additionally, I have loved to watch the way my wife has perfectly evolved into the role of mother. She works so hard to make sure he is happy and looks at him with this organic love, that only a parent could have for their child. I couldn't do this without her and she is an inspiration to me.

Tracking Update

Two weeks have passed since my first tracking post, "The Starting Zone", and it is time for my first update. I don't expect tons of change every two weeks, but that's not necessarily the point. I want to be tracking it every step of the way so that I can look back across a sea of progression by the time the journey ends. This time, I'll just be checking in on on pictures and my measurements. Without any racing happening, the time measurements don't really have an update.
